The Vans Park Series 2019 Africa Regional Skateboarding Championships are coming up next month: July 26-27.

It’s all going down at the Vans ZA bowl at The Shred Indoor Skatepark. The largest prize purse in local skateboarding, for men and women! The winners of each event will also get a trip to Salt Lake City, USA for the global finals.

Girls Skate Camp

Ladies nights are FREE for skateboarders! thanks to Vans SA. All other riders will be able to get in for half price. There will also be prizes & giveaways plus free pizza!! So tell your friends & come have some fun, even if you have never skated before.

Session is from 17:00 till 21:00

* please note that it is only free entrance for skateboarders as this is a Vans global skate initiative leading up to the Olympics in 2020. All other lady riders are, of course, still welcome, but will only need to pay for a half price session.

Go Skateboarding Day

The Shred in association with Dank Bank Alliance was proud to bring you Go Skateboarding Day on the 21st June. It was an interstellar day with fun for the whole galaxy, there was DJs, Mc's, Skate instructors and even prize giveaways. Doors opened at 9am.

Cheap As Chips March 2019

PRICES GETTING TOO HIGH?

Well let's all slow down a bit & head on over to Cheap As Chips market on the 29th March for some irie deals. All brands will hash it out on the street course but you'll be able to light up the bowl for some groovy prizes. As usual, 10% of proceeds go towards our Skate Fund to build & maintain DIY spots around Cape Town. So save the date & share the love. Bless it!

Everybody got ready for some fun in the sun, Caribbean style, for our Christmas with a twist. We hit the street again with some crazy obstacles and live performances by Black Lung, The Dinosaurs and Runaway Nuns we even had Dj's Polly Chalmers and Len and Eclectic Maniac. Thanks to Vans, Deluxe Coffee Works, Newlands Brewery, Captain Fin, Element, Independent, Casio, Skullcandy, Baseline Skate Shop and Globe.

31ST OCTOBER 2018

The Shred Skatepark in association with Vans and Red Bull hosted a best trick halloween jam with tons of blood, gore, cash prizes (R6666 to be exact) and all round freaky vibes this past 31st October 2018

14th- 15th September 2018

Vans Park Series, the definitive World Championship park terrain skateboarding competition series for men and women, was proud to announce the first African Continental Championships in Cape Town, South Africa at The Shred!
The VPS Africa Continental Championships provided a chance to win an all expenses paid trip to China to compete, and an official path for regional talent to earn their way onto the official VPS World Tour circuit.

Another Cheap As Chips market has come and gone. There was a Bowl Jam brought to you by Vans , as well as a DJ spinning some tunes, great food and good vibes was the order of the day.

As usual, 10% of all proceeds go towards our Skate Fund which we use to build DIY skate spots around Cape Town.

We've hosted the first edition of our new annual street skate competition next month.

It was big!

It's time again for the next edition of the Cheap As Chips market. We're doing things a bit different this time. It's on a public holiday (workers Day) from midday to 5pm. There will be a mini ramp jam with some serious prizes up for grabs. As usual, this is also a fundraising event for our Skate Fund which is used to build & expand public park projects in Cape Town, such as the Edgemead Skate Park. Watch this space for updates.

We're doing all sales at the door this time, R20 will get you in to the market & R50 to skate the comp. Only mini ramp will be open for skating before & after the competition. The Shred will be closed from the morning on the day to set up for the event. The following brands have been confirmed so far & will be holding stalls & getting involved with the prizes!
